It should go without saying, but we firmly stand against Racism and discrimination in all of it's ugly forms. There have been multiple times where we've had to confront customers that were purposefully making loud racial and disparaging comments about other customers while eating in our restaurant. This is not acceptable and we believe that all people should be treated with dignity; regardless of where you are from, what religion you practice, what color you are, who you sleep with, how much money you have, what disabilities you deal with, how you live your life, etc. We will always try to promote a positive atmosphere for all. We have a short story to share with you. Late one night, it was almost closing time, when a 7-year-old girl and her parents came in for dinner. They were the last and only customers in the place, so we sat them at their table of choice. We were preoccupied cleaning up and getting ready for the next day before they arrived, but in our usual fashion, we put things on hold and focused our attention on taking care of them. They proceeded to inform us they were not from the area. We asked what had brought them to Boston, and they said that their (adorable) little girl has Cancer and they brought her for an aggressive treatment at Boston Children's Hospital. Then, they let us know that they hoped they were not holding us up by coming in so late. Needless to say, we were both very surprised and taken aback by the gravity of their situation that they decided to share. This issue hits very close to home for us, because Jim is also a Cancer survivor and was particularly affected by this adorable little girl (with a smile bigger than her face) and with an uphill battle ahead for both her and her parents. We then pulled out all the stops and tried our best to make it a memorable and positive experience for all of them. After they left, Jim walked into the kitchen in tears and said that meeting this little girl and her family was the highlight of his week and once again made him feel good about all of the work we do (although in all honesty, Jim does the most work between the two of us)! Having the ability to touch people's lives with the restaurant means more to us than anything, as it can give people a much needed break from stress and daily struggles. Over the years, we have met people from all walks of life and have both celebrated many great events and have also been there to support people going thru some difficult life experiences. We are extremely grateful for all of our customers and Facebook friends. This story is a message of love, happiness, and good health for everyone that comes across this post now & always!
